LEARNING REFLECTION:
1. What did you know about this week’s topics before this week?
- Studio Discussion 3
- Another chance to work on our projects in live time and receive extra teaching support
- Getting Started with Flask
- I have no idea what Flask is!!!! I’ve heard the name, but at this point I know nothing about it
- Chill time? Work on semester project time?
2. Comparing what you know now to what you knew before, name at least two important things that you learned this week.
- We didn’t have a Studio session. We instead had Information and Interaction Design II.
- We learned about Gestalt Principles of Grouping, which is about how the brain chucks information in an effort to make sense of it in a simple way.
- Getting Started with Flask
- Flask is a great, pretty easy to learn back-end framework.
- We can look at every website as a/n (empty) database
3. How can you apply what you learned to your Semester Project or beyond? Put differently, what rule(s) can you create for yourself so that you can benefit from this knowledge later?
- We can use Gestalt principles and Flask in our project to make it as epic as possible!
4. Describe what you know about next week’s topics in a sentence or two.
- No class Monday
- Getting Started with React
- React is good for front-end web dev stuff.
ACCOUNTABILITY QUESTIONS:
1. What tasks did you give yourself in last week’s answer to Accountability Question #4?
- Task 1: Focus on some thing, task, activity at a time | In Progress
- Task 2: Plan accordingly so that I’m not doing a ton of work late at night; frontload work in the AM | In Progress
- Task 3: Stay focused! Use Wednesday as an exciting deadline so that we can be chill and awesome over break! | In Progress
2. Did you complete them?
- Task 1: I’ve done a pretty good job of staying focused on one thing at a time
