LEARNING REFLECTION:
1. What did you know about this week’s topics before this week?
- Studio Discussion 3
- More time to work on project in class and get support from teaching staff!
- UNIT 5! Principles of Interaction: Fundamental Principles of Interaction
- I don’t know much at all other than the fact that interaction is a super key element of interface design. We have to think about how our users will interact with what we’re creating.
2. Comparing what you know now to what you knew before, name at least two important things that you learned this week.
- Studio Discussion 3
- UNIT 5! Principles of Interaction: Fundamental Principles of Interaction
- If you need to label something to show how it works, this is a design smell. It’s probably not the best design
3. How can you apply what you learned to your Semester Project or beyond? Put differently, what rule(s) can you create for yourself so that you can benefit from this knowledge later?
- Make all designs as intuitive as possible so that they don’t need to be labeled.
4. Describe what you know about next week’s topics in a sentence or two.
- Interaction styles
- Thanksgiving break!
ACCOUNTABILITY QUESTIONS:
1. What tasks did you give yourself in last week’s answer to Accountability Question #4?
- Task 1: Time block based on due dates | In Progress
- Task 2: When you’re working on one task, only think about completing that one task. Things get done faster when you’re not multitasking. | In Progress
2. Did you complete them?
- Task 1: I’m moving away from the idea of “completing” a lot of these tasks because many of them are more like lifelong practices that are always in progress. I have, however, done a good job of time blocking based on when tasks are most pressing due to their due dates.
- Task 2: I’ve been trying my best to do one thing at a time! Can be challenging at times.
