- Lovely letter! I think we should edit it for this next cohort a bit, but love the idea and this one is very cute!
Page 3
- Good table of contents! Very necessary
Page 4
- Good map, I like including it
Page 5-6
- Definitely good to include these schedules
- I like the titles for each day, we should definitely do something like that for this year
Page 7-10
- I like what’s provided on the page: Overview, Materials, Additional Resources
Page 11
- Love the task
- The maker centered learning framework resources are very cool, especially the agency by design
Change
Page 1
- Boring cover, we can make this cooler
- Cover should have new(ish) STEAM in the City logo on it
Page 3
- We could perhaps talk about the way we want this program to be designed more in terms of the type/order of information laid out. For instance, intuitively it would make sense if it follows the order of STEAM in terms of content (and this could be something we note)
- Land acknowledgement should have its own page and this should be the first page after the cover page
- replace with Yuval’s Harlem inclusive land acknowledgement
Page 4
- Add nearest bathrooms and water bottle stations
Page 5-6
- This is very overwhelming to look at. I like we should split each day into its own page in the welcome packet
- Would be good to mark more clearly for each day the STEAM stuff going on aside from the walking/intros/wrapping up sections
- Seems repetitive to always write out “Lynn Chu Classroom, Milstein LL 002” maybe we make a Key at the beginning so that locations don’t always need to be repeated
Page 7-10
- Need some fun symbols/icons
- A lot of just text going on
- The links are annoying. I think we can hyperlink them instead
- Do we want these packets to be interactive? Will they be printed out or digital? Adding in a space for educators to take notes on each page seems useful?
- On this note, a place where educators can be asked/already start thinking about how they can create something in their own classrooms
- Add in a picture/bio of the person leading the day/activities
- Every page should have its own design vibe based on what educators are learning about
Page 11
- The task/ask is very exciting! This should be made more clear if educators are just flipping through the welcome packet. We want to get them hype!!!
Page 12
- This should go at the beginning of the packet
General
- The CEI logo looks awkward at the top of every page. This should go in the bottom left or right-hand corner
- We need up the very ste(a)m very swag levels of the packet. I want colors, shapes, pictures, helpful icons, vibes
