Extended: My life mission is to completely re-envision the way we view STEM as a society. I argue that this massive re-imagination begins with exposing girls to STEM and women role models when they're young. I believe that STEM is a superpower, and that it is up to all of us—students, educators, business leaders, etc—to enable girls to recognize, explore, and utilize their STEM capabilities to change the world. I am a skilled speaker, motivator, strategist, workshop leader, and graphic designer. I've shared my STEM story with hundreds of students worldwide, leaving my audiences inspired to pursue their passions. During my senior year of high school, I conducted research as an intern in the Astrophysics Department at the American Museum of Natural History. In February, my team discovered a brown dwarf, 2M2351B, 66 light years from Earth and our work is currently in the publication process for various scientific journals. My background is in Theater and I'll be double majoring in Computer Science and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Barnard.

Informal: Hi! My name is Izzy and I'm a first-year at Barnard planning on double majoring in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Computer Science. This year, I'm participating in Barnard's ThirdSpace program where I am working on further developing Barnard's new CS department. During my senior year of high school, I conducted astrophysics research at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC where my team discovered a brown dwarf 66 light years away! Outside of Barnard, I'm very involved in the girls in STEM community where I frequently deliver talks sharing my STEM story. Besides STEM, I'm interested in design, branding, marketing, public speaking, social media, politics, and entrepreneurship. Lastly, I love to read, write, listen to music & bike!
